After two phases and four years, the covered street between two Aarhus neighbourhoods is open every day from eight until ten.

The new Northfield Library opened on 1 June with a reading marathon that ran until midnight. More than 3,000 people walked through the glazed street on the first day.
The building was delivered in two phases so that the old library could stay open until the new one was ready. The final phase added the children’s floor and the roof terrace.
A street, not a lobby
The ground floor has no entrance hall. It is a public route that happens to have books along it, open longer than the reading rooms above.
